Dodgers, Cody Bellinger Walk-off Against The Cubs

The Dodgers walk-off win versus the Cubs was a much needed delight on Saturday afternoon. Cody Bellinger smashed a solo home run into the pavilions to unknot a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the ninth. He swung so hard his batting helmet almost fell off. Here’s to many more walk-off wins for the Dodgers in 2021.

  1. Cody seems to be getting his Mojo back!

After demoralizing sweep by the Padres, there seemed to be a lot of redemption in the eyes of the Dodgers. A vintage, dominating performance by Kershaw, Dodgers showing signs of a running game, game changing Grand Salami by McKinstry, and epic “Icing on the Cake” by Bellinger. The “live or die by the sword” mentality has lost many heartreakers for the Dodgers, but it definitely won the game last night!

Just one negative. 12 KO’s, a persistent pain in the sides of the Dodger offensive attack.

Congrats to Muncy, JT, CT3, Betts, and Lux for making the final ballot. With DR in the driver’s seat, the Dodgers should be well represented in the All-Star Game, if he does the right thing. We cannot have the Astros have more All-Star representation than our World Champs.

  2. No offense, but one of the only things that matters less to me than how many All-Stars the Astros have is the Giants.

The Giants are good. They are well run. They are run much like the Dodgers are.

Oh for the days that this blog lamented the moronic take that the Dodgers were run like a small-market team.

    That was moronic.

I’m curious to find out if Scott feels that’s how the Giants are run?

    1. The Dodgers have been run like a small-market club Bluto. For years. With the exception of two signings (Mookie and Bauer). It took Friedman almost 6 years to sign a star free agent. Are the Giants being run that way? Yes absolutely. Still not sure what exactly they are, but so far they seem like a fundamentally sound team with a few guys having career years. I am unsure why you think that was a moronic take?
