has pitched so little for the Dodgers, because of a blistered finger, he’s being called nicknames like Blister Boy and Captain Blister. It’s too bad the blister remains his calling card, because he was lights out (6 scoreless innings) against the Giants in his Dodgers debut.
He returns to the mound at Chavez Ravine tonight, for his second start as a Dodger.
What will the blister gods have to say about that?
For the first three innings the Dodgers were quiet and scoreless. But more importantly, Rich Hill kept the Padres even quieter. He retired the first nine in a row, without giving up a single hit.

Tops: Yasmani Grandal now has a career-high 22 HRs.
A traded flop no more: Josh Reddick finally came of age with the Dodgers and went 3 for 4 with two singles and a solo home run.
Should I worry?: Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that Josh Reddick hit his first Dodgers home run.
Trouble is, that probably reassured the Dodgers about the Reddick experiment. He may find a nice hitting groove. He may never hit again. Either way, I fear Reddick will now be cemented into the starting lineup, and Andrew Toles will slip down the depth charts.
The Giants won, so the Dodgers keep 2 game lead.
Rich Hill went 6 innings with 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 walks, 8 Ks.
Home run: Josh Reddick.
Let’s type that once more for the Josh Reddick Marching and Chowder Society: Reddick with a home run.
