The New Kenley Jansen has Quietly Emerged as a Solid Closer

Sure Albert Pujols joining the Dodgers is a big story, but even bigger than that, is the resurgence of Kenley Jansen as the team’s go-to closer

I was born in the shadow of Dodger Stadium and immediately drenched in Dodger Blue. Chavez Ravine is my baseball cathedral, Vin Scully was the golden voice of summer all my life, and Tommy Lasorda remains the greatest Dodgers manager ever. My favorite things are coffee, beer, and the Dodgers beating the Giants. I also blog about my baseball card hobby at All Trade Bait, All the Time.

  1. Just as with Pujols, Gas-Kenley still has some gas left in the tank.
A combination offa little confidence and mechanical adjustments.
Good to see him hitting 95-97 MPH, and smiling for a change.

      1. Yes, he is pitching angry!

The last few years he was like a deer in headlights. Now he has regained the persona that, “I am ‘The Closer’, just try and hit this pitch!”

BTW, nice Dodger debut by 35 yr old Nate Jones! A little bit of a surprise! Where has he been hiding? ….So Random!
