His outings are really becoming a detriment to the team. It’s extremely difficult to muster up the energy to win a ball game when you’re constantly losing before the chairs are warm.
The offense came through this time despite Dave Roberts fielding another all righty loser lineup with a below Mendoza line (Kike Hernandez batting .189) hitter batting lead-off. Their lineups are so stupid, but thankfully the Dodgers got a couple of big hits from Yasiel Puig, A.J. Ellis, and Howie Kendrick. Newly acquired Chris Taylor tripled in his first game which means he’s already outhit Kike Hernandez for the entire season. Honestly though, the Dodgers need to dump him. Do they really need Kike if Taylor can back up at shortstop?
All of this was tempered with the news of Clayton Kershaw’s sore back and Justin Turner’s leg cramping. Even when we do get a good win under our belts you can bet dollars to donuts that somebody will get hurt. Don’t worry though, both injuries are considered minor and Kershaw is not expected to miss his next start. Thank god.
Dodgers Lineup @ Milwaukee-TBA
Game Time – 5:10 PM – TV- SNLA
So the Dodgers will now fly to Milwaukee to close out the road trip with a three game set at Miller Park. The Dodgers defeated the Brewers three out of four last week at Dodger Stadium. The good news is that the Dodgers will lead-off the series with super prospect Julio Urias. The Brewers will tab Chase Anderson again.
Urias faced the Brewers last week and tossed five shutout frames against them. He allowed just one hit and struck out eight but was not involved in the decision. Overall he is 0-2 with a 4.33 ERA in 9 starts. Over 27 frames he’s whiffed 35 and walked just 9. He has posted an 11.7 strikeout per nine rate. He’s actually pitched very well, in limited innings. The Dodgers are sure to have him on another 90-95 pitch count limit. Perhaps this will be the day he picks up his first MLB win? Will this be his final start of the season?
Right hander Chase Anderson (4-7 5.13) faced the Dodgers on June 18 at Dodger Stadium and was hammered. The boys in blue rocked him for seven earned runs on six hits over 2.1 innings of work. He hasn’t started since then. He’s 1-2 with a 5.07 ERA in 7 career starts against the Dodgers. Anderson is 3-2 with a 4.66 career ERA at Miller Park. If Adrian Gonzalez could get his back and mind healthy that would be just super perfect because he’s hitting .462 (.6 fir 13) with a home run against Anderson.

In case you haven’t heard, minor leaguer Brock Stewart will start on Wednesday against the Brewers. Of course a roster spot will need to be cleared so somebody is going to get cut. I’m crossing my fingers that the Dodgers will finally cut bait with Kike Hernandez. Crossing arms, feet, legs, and eyes. Needless to say Stewart was pretty stoked.
I'm so incredibly fortunate to say that the dreams I've had since I was a young boy have come true. I got the call!!

The Dodgers are kind of stupid because they could have had Carlos Frias start, but they already had optioned him, so they have to wait the full ten days before recalling him. The only other way to get him back up sooner is to replace an injured pitcher. The 24-year old right hander has split time this season between Tulsa and Oklahoma City. It looks like the bum merry-go round of the back end of the rotation continues. I guess you could say that the “depth” that all the Friedman butt kissers raved about has produced Brock Stewart. The truth is the front office has absolutely no plan. They’re just going to week to week. To nobody’s surprise Brandon McCarthy, Hyun-jin Ryu, Brett Anderson and the rest of the walking wounded have yet to pitch in the majors this year.
In other news Nick Tepesch was claimed off of waivers by the A’s. Makes you wonder why the Dodgers punted that game away. Couldn’t they have just used Frias? The front office defies common sense. The Giants finally lost a game, so the Dodgers (42-36) are now 7 games back in the NL West standings.
