LADR New Posting Guidelines Effective March 1

I didn’t want to have to do this but upon request from many posters it looks like I will. We will be finally laying out posting guidelines for LADR. For the record I was hoping that everyone could act like adults and police their own posting behaviors. But apparently that ship has sailed. So here we go, the very first posting/commenting guidelines for LADR. It only took three years to implement.

First off, I will not be banning anyone. So don’t ask us too. There are exceptions of course. If there is somebody that is an extreme violator, or chronically breaking the rules then I may have to consider. Otherwise, I don’t believe in banning anyone, so nobody will have to worry about that.

What I will be doing instead is deleting posts. If your post violates any of the site’s rules then Oscar, James or myself will instantly delete it. As a matter of fact I will delete the post with a huge smile on my face while I laugh with glee. I’ll enjoy it and light a few candles afterwards.

You all know that I am a very reasonable guy. However don’t try my patience. Here are the rules for commenting.

  1. No illegal or vulgar posting of any kind. (this should be common sense)
  2. No personal attacks
  3. No politics
  4. No disparaging the site or the community

The first two rules are pretty straight forward. Nothing illegal, vulgar or extreme. No personal attacks on other posters. The third rule has some wiggle room. I won’t delete if you have a political reference, or just casually mention something politics related. I don’t want anyone to be scared to bring up anything politically natured. I guess you could say it’s going to be a judgment call. But if the post is nothing but politics, and inflammatory or antagonizing then it will be deleted. This is a baseball blog. Please keep the politics elsewhere.

We will not be initiating these rules until March 1. So that means from now until then it’s a free for all. That’s right, I am giving everybody free reign to say and post whatever they want until March 1. Until then have fun. On March 1, the new rules take effect.
