The Dodgers won the World Series on Wednesday night in New York at Yankee Stadium when they defeated the Bronx Bombers 7-6 in game 5 of the World Series. The Dodgers had to overcome a seemingly dominant Gerrit Cole and a 5-0 early deficit, when they took advantage of three New York errors, to score five unearned runs to tie the game. The rally was highlighted by a two-run single from World Series MVP Freddie Freeman, and a two-run double from Teoscar Hernandez. Later in the game they had to rally again when they fell behind 6-5. In that inning they scored two runs on sacrifice flies from Gavin Lux and Mookie Betts. Walker Buehler, pitching on very short rest, recorded the final three outs of the series to secure the victory.

When Buehler struck out Alex Verdugo for the last out, all of Los Angeles and Dodger fans around the globe roared with joy. Los Angeles burst into mayhem and celebrated/partied throughout the evening. The Dodgers are holding the championship parade on Friday November 1, starting at 11 AM. The parade will begin with the mayor at city hall, and the Dodgers will ride down the streets of Los Angeles in double decker buses. All of those rain clouds hanging over the franchise when the Dodgers and fans were robbed of a parade and home games during their Championship run in 2020 due to Covid, has finally been lifted. We’re getting it all, a parade, and we get to celebrate together. The Dodgers have won two World Series Championships in two years and nobody can tell them this one doesn’t count. They’re well prepared to do it again next year.

The streets of Los Angeles exploded with Dodgers celebrations. Wild parties, fireworks, Dodger pride filled the streets of LA. It was the stuff of dreams.
