Chris Woodward Says TX Rangers’ Chemistry Better than LA Dodgers’

The Dodgers have barely cracked the seal on Spring Training, and they already have their first controversy of the 2019 season – courtesy of ex-Dodger coach/new Texas Rangers manager, Chris Woodward.

He says the Rangers have better team chemistry than the Dodgers. Is he right? Here’s my take.

I was born in the shadow of Dodger Stadium and immediately drenched in Dodger Blue. Chavez Ravine is my baseball cathedral, Vin Scully was the golden voice of summer all my life, and Tommy Lasorda remains the greatest Dodgers manager ever. My favorite things are coffee, beer, and the Dodgers beating the Giants. I also blog about my baseball card hobby at All Trade Bait, All the Time.

  1. Woodward has been the manager of the Rangers for a whole day and he says the chemistry is better? He doesn’t even know the names of all his guys yet and he is shooting off his mouth about another team? Hey, he was the 3rd base coach and maybe he thinks he knew the pulse of the team. But it is pretty bush league to go ragging on a team that employed you for the last 3 years and gave Texas permission to talk to you about the opening.

    1. Michael, I am sure many of us just can’t wait to read and or see the look on Woodward’s face when his team is oh, maybe 10 or 15 games behind that division leader by the end of the 1st or 2nd month….

  2. I am so excited about (zzzzzzzzzzzzz) this upcoming (zzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz zzzzzzz) or sorry I must have dozed off there for a minute, any way I am so excited about this (zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz)

  3. Woodward with the organizational sphincter smooch. It traditional. He could have shown more class and left the Dodgers out of it. He didn’t because he’s of the Richie Hebner school of gauche. Ignore him. He’s proven himself to be classless, with the emphasis on ASS.

Or…… maybe there’s something to it???

  4. No news day there Bluto. Nothing of note anyway. A couple more free agents have signed. Romo went to Miami, who is signing a bunch of vets to 1 year deals. Best news out of Glendale is that there is no news……

  5. Dodgers FO announced yesterday that they would be no announcements.

Just released announcement out of Dodgers Spring Training , “we would like to announce today, February 16, that we expect to not have any announcements today or tomorrow. We will keep you posted in regards to not having any announcements during the rest of this off season. Thank you, that concludes this announcement.”

  6. Mostly minor league deals being announced today and the Angels named all of their minor league staffs. Seems like that is a little late in the game to do, but I guess that is the way they roll. Maybin to the Giants on a minor league deal and Axford goes back to the Jays. Rumor out there now is that Harper will announce his decision early in the week….I will believe it when I see it.

  7. Fresh from Broke Back Ranch, AZ:
The Dodgers have just announced that they will make no announcement regarding Chris Woodward acting like an ungrateful, cheap-shotting little (unt.

On other breaking news, the Dodgers announced that they will make no more announcements today.

    1. I believe an announcement is forthcoming. I believe some measurement of management gabbling palaver is always looming.

  8. The Moose goes back to Milwaukee. Heyman is reporting that Harper is () this close to signing with the Phillies. Comes down to money as it usually does and the Nats offer of 10/300 is lower than what the Phils have on the table. Rumor #2 is that Machado is prepared to take the highest offer also, which right now is from the White Sox, but the Padres are still in the game. Greinke reports to spring late and says spring training is boring…who knew….

  9. Announcement Update dated 2/18/2018:

“The Dodgers would like to announce that we have no announcements to make today. Further we would like to announce that we don’t foresee having any announcements in the near future. All future announcements will be announced even if we there really isn’t anything to announce. Thank you for patience as we try to figure out what to announce. However we still will make no announcement regarding Chris Woodward being a little cheap-shotting (unt. When we would like to make any announcement regarding that little $hit we will announce our announcement.”

    1. Gurnick:

“If the rain holds off, Clayton Kershaw is one of eight pitchers scheduled to throw live batting practice today. Corey Seager is one of the listed hitters to face Kevin Quackenbush.”

A Seager Quackenbush sighting? How come we have to hear this from a reporter? Something this big should come from the Dodgers themselves. I’m sure more to follow n

      1. Dodgers would like to announce that we were totally caught unaware that Cory Seager would be in the lineup today, in fact we really didn’t realize that he had reported to ST. Otherwise, we announce that we have nothing to announce.
