Exhibition Game Thread-Dodgers Play Two

Howie Kendrick

Today is split squad day for the Dodgers as they will play two games this afternoon. One half of the club will be taking on the Brewers at Maryvale Park. The other half will stay behind to play the Padres at Camelback Ranch. In the game against Milwaukee, left hander Scott Kazmir will face Jimmy Nelson, and Robbie Erlin will counter Mike Bolsinger in the second game.

The injuries continue of course as Scott Van Slyke was scratched today because of a hip flexor injury, Andre Ethier is still on crutches, and Brandon Beachy’s arm is likely a tire fire of surgeries. Regardless of the nagging injuries the Dodgers have still been playing well. The boys in blue (thanks to a high octane offense) are 10-6 in Cactus League play. Keep in mind that means absolutely nothing. Spring records don’t mean anything. They’ve looked pretty good, except for the hordes of fielding errors they’ve been making, but that’s a post for another day.

(Update)– Minutes before the game Bolsinger was scratched with abdominal tightness. Minor leaguer Jeremy Kehrt starts in his place. Spoiler alert….he sucked

The game at Maryvale will be streamed live on MLB.tv, and the game at Camelback will be televised on SNLA. I’ll be at home relaxing and enjoying a day off from work. I hope you guys will be having a nice serene Sunday afternoon as well. Go Blue times two!

  1. Oooh, so u mean I can have 1 game on the laptop and 1 game on the appleTV??

Sounds like Sunday Funday to me!

  2. Captain Kehrt’s been beamed up with an ERA over 40.

He’ll do well to Kling on to a place in AA if he continues like that.

  3. Bolsinger with abdominal tightness – hope it’s not the dreaded oblique strain – that could take months. Beachy out with elbow tendonitis. Lee optioned. Who is the 5th starter?
