Final Score: Los Angeles Dodgers-5, Boston Red Sox-2

Dodgers Player of the Game

Teoscar Hernandez, whose 8th inning home run provided a cushion in what was a 3-2 game, allowed Ben Casprius to pick up his first save.

My Thoughts: Pitching, especially the bullpen holding who did not allow a run from the Red Sox, provided a good victory for the start of their long road trip. Shohei Ohtani did not break the consecutive home run record and will remain tied at the top of that list with five home runs in five straight games. Ben Casparius picking up his first save in front of his hometown fans was a pretty special moment, even though the ninth felt a little intense there at the end. Hyseong Kim striking out four times in this game was the low point for the Dodger offense. Teoscar Hernandez keeps on dominating Fenway Park with another home run hit at the old ball park. Red Sox fans are probably wishing he were putting up those numbers in a Sox uniform. The Dodgers are now 6.0 games ahead of the Padres after this win, following the Padres’ loss in St. Louis. Mookie Betts was not with the team due to a family issue in Nashville, but he is scheduled to arrive before tomorrow’s game. If he is late, he will come off the bench.

Next Up:  Dodgers send out Clayton Kershaw to battle the Red Sox ace, Garret Crochet, in America’s game of the week on FOX. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:15 PM PST.

Growing up and living in Oklahoma I fell in love with the game of baseball from an early age from playing T ball through High School. I have always had an admiration for the Boys in Blue with how the Dodger Way is the right way to play the game. Tommy Lasorda is my favorite manager of all time and my all-time favorite players are Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Sandy Koufax, Pedro Guerrero, Mike Piazza and Clayton Kershaw. I am enamored with Dodgers history from the Brooklyn days when they were Dem Bums to the days of Fernandomania to Mannywood and beyond. Vin Scully will always be the best announcer the game has ever seen and it will always be time for Dodger baseball. I am married to the love of my life Melissa who gave me the inspiration to actually take on this crazy idea of writing about the Dodgers and without her support I would not be able to do what I love. My cousin Zach Chase and uncle John Chase for being a Dodger encyclopedia and sharing their knowledge with me. I will bring my perspective and love for the team to readers and I will most likely have spelling errors from time to time but I promise ill do my best on it. I want to bring you a unique perspective on your favorite team and also throw some humor along the way. I love to talk about baseball with anybody who will listen and I look forward to the Dodgers going back-to-back in their quest for another World Series Championship. Dodger Blue through and through.
