Dodgers Fall to Rangers in the Ninth

Baseball has a funny way of making a fan happy one moment and hurting the next. Today was one of those days as our Boys in Blue had a 3-2 lead heading into the ninth with lights-out pitcher Kirby Yates on the mound to finish it. The Rangers sent Josh Smith to the plate, who hit a double right out of the gate. Following that was a two-run blast by Adolis Garcia, which ended the game with the Rangers winning 4-3. Days like today happen to everybody especially late inning pitchers so Kirby Yates will bounce back from this minor setback and look to continue his streak of stringing together quality outings and more times than not he is going to seal the win for the Dodgers so having the confidence to put him back in high leverage situations wont be a problem. Enough about the sadness, and let’s talk about how Roki Sasaki took another step on his big league journey by holding the Rangers to two runs and pitching through the sixth inning for the first time this season, and will be looking for his next start to get his first win in the big leagues finally.

Freddie Freeman continues to come up clutch as the Dodgers were down by two runs heading into the fourth, and Freeman goes deep to tie the game. The fact that the offense never backs down, scratches and claws its way back into games, shows the resilient toughness needed to get through this season. Sunday should be a fun game as Tyler Glasnow goes against Tyler Mahle for the Rangers. I like the chances of the Dodgers taking this series and moving on to Chicago and getting some revenge on the Cubs. Today, Shohei Ohtani welcomed his first baby into the world as his wife gave birth to a baby girl, so whenever he returns, maybe he will have some newfound dad strength to go along with his unworldly power.

LADR will be back here tomorrow with a game, and as we move forward, we will continue to bring you recaps and Dodger information to fill your baseball needs. Enjoy your Saturday night and maybe even take in Wrestlemania if you’re into that sort of thing. Dodger baseball will return tomorrow and look to continue its winning ways. Until then, have a great evening and a happy Easter.

Growing up and living in Oklahoma I fell in love with the game of baseball from an early age from playing T ball through High School. I have always had an admiration for the Boys in Blue with how the Dodger Way is the right way to play the game. Tommy Lasorda is my favorite manager of all time and my all-time favorite players are Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Sandy Koufax, Pedro Guerrero, Mike Piazza and Clayton Kershaw. I am enamored with Dodgers history from the Brooklyn days when they were Dem Bums to the days of Fernandomania to Mannywood and beyond. Vin Scully will always be the best announcer the game has ever seen and it will always be time for Dodger baseball. I am married to the love of my life Melissa who gave me the inspiration to actually take on this crazy idea of writing about the Dodgers and without her support I would not be able to do what I love. My cousin Zach Chase and uncle John Chase for being a Dodger encyclopedia and sharing their knowledge with me. I will bring my perspective and love for the team to readers and I will most likely have spelling errors from time to time but I promise ill do my best on it. I want to bring you a unique perspective on your favorite team and also throw some humor along the way. I love to talk about baseball with anybody who will listen and I look forward to the Dodgers going back-to-back in their quest for another World Series Championship. Dodger Blue through and through.

    1. They were bound to give one away like this, especially with all the innings the bullpen has been logging.

But the pen is pretty good. We won’t see many of these.
