Former Dodgers Pitcher Pedro Baez Would Not Survive The New Pitch Clock Era

If you ever wondered what former Dodgers reliever and human rain delay Pedro Baez would do in today’s new pitch clock regime, well wonder no more. That’s because Rob Friedman of pitching Ninja has given us the answers. In this video you see on one side Dodgers Prospect Landon Knack, throwing an entire inning, and on the other side you see Baez throwing one pitch in the time it takes Knack to throw a full frame.

I wonder how many violations Baez could rack up in an entire month, let alone a full season. I’m sure he would lead the league, nay all of MLB in this category. Which reminds me, someone needs to keep track of this stat so we can know who the slowest pitcher in baseball is every year. We can name the stat, “The Baez factor” or something like that. Award them with a trophy of a snail. Poor Baez was way ahead of his time and never knew it.
