Dodgers Swept by Angels, Look Terrible

Freeway Series
April 2, 2016

These games don’t count. That’s what we gotta keep telling ourselves after the Dodgers lost the finale of the Freeway series to the Angels by an 8-1 score. The Dodgers were easily swept and looked pathetic.  Alex Wood got bombed, and the club only scored one run again. It’s almost as if we never left 2015. You know I want to give Alex Wood a chance, and trust me I…

Notes on the First Game of the Freeway Series

April 1, 2016

Here are a few notes and thoughts from Game One of the Freeway Series between your Los Angeles Dodgers and the Southern California, Orange County, Off the 57 Freeway, Angels of Anaheim. What a joy it was to hear Vin Scully broadcasting the game. I spent quite some time trying to find the proper phrasing for what it felt like to once again hear that golden voice from our favorite…

Dodgers Return Home, Offense Does Not

Corey Seager
March 31, 2016

The Dodgers returned home to play a low scoring affair in the opening game of the Freeway series against the Angels. It was a return of 2015 baseball as the Dodger offense took the night off and the bullpen blew a late tie. It wasn’t a blown save, but a blown tie in the top of the eighth. Right hander Chris Hatcher was the blower, taking us back to the…

The Dodgers Are Coming Home

Clayton Kershaw
March 30, 2016

At least Clayton Kershaw is in midseason form already. The Dodgers wrapped up the Arizona portion of their exhibition season with a 4-3 loss to the Indians at Camelback Ranch. This was the final game at Glendale. The boys in blue are coming home on Thursday to open the Freeway series against the Angels. Thursday and Friday night’s games are at Dodger Stadium. Kershaw tossed three shutout innings allowing just…

Did Zach Lee Make His Case To Be The Fifth Starter?

Zach Lee
March 26, 2016

It’s a free-for-all in the race to be the fifth Dodger starter, and anybody’s guess about who’s in the lead. Tonight Zach Lee went to the mound against the White Sox with the high hopes that he’ll be able to convince skipper Dave Roberts and everyone else he deserves to be that man. Lee threw an uneventful and scoreless first inning; things were looking pretty good for the kid’s chances….

More Annoying Injuries For The Dodgers

Brett Anderson
March 26, 2016

This has been a miserable spring for the Dodgers, and it keeps getting worse. The reason for the misery has been a slew of injuries. Now the Dodgers have three more injured players to add to the growing list. The severity of these injuries is yet to be determined. Outfielder Yasiel Puig is reported to have left hamstring tightness and was a late scratch from Saturday’s game against the White Sox. Apparently…

Dodgers Pound Giants on Vin Scully Night

Vin Scully
March 25, 2016

The Dodgers came into Friday night’s exhibition affair with the Giants having lost seven in a row, and 10 of their last 11 games. That doesn’t count Thursday night’s 5-5 tie with the Indians. I know these games don’t count in the standings, but it would be nice to win a couple. Opening day is just ten days away and there is not much time for the club to start…

Dodgers Drop Seventh Straight Cactus League Game

Alex Wood
March 23, 2016

I didn’t expect for the Dodgers to come out guns blazing on Tuesday night after hearing the depressing news of Andre Ethier’s fractured tibia. However the club looked demoralized as they dropped their seventh straight Cactus League game losing to the Royals 3-1 at Surprise Stadium. Boy do the boys in Blue have the blues. It was another lackluster outing from Alex Wood, who allowed three earned runs on six…

Dodgers’ Fifth Starter Race Becomes Fire As Jeremy Kehrt Burns Up

March 20, 2016

Just before the Dodgers began today’s split-squad games against the Padres and Brewers, the question about who will emerge from Spring Training as the fifth starter became a burning heap of empty jerseys and cleats. The Dodgers optioned Zach Lee back the minors, Brandon Beachy was listed as sitting out for a few games because of elbow tenderness, and the last man standing, Mike Bolsinger, was suddenly scratched from his…

Today is split squad day for the Dodgers as they will play two games this afternoon. One half of the club will be taking on the Brewers at Maryvale Park. Dodgers Could Use Rotation Platoon

Alex Wood
March 18, 2016

I believe it was Bumsrap who suggested that the Dodgers have a rotation that rotated. This is meaning that the club swaps around the pitchers. Of course the top three of Clayton Kershaw, Scott Kazmir, and Kenta Maeda are locked in. What he meant was that the bottom two spots in the rotation could be switched around based on matchup. So one guy starts this week, next week a different…

The Dodgers 300 Million Dollar Experiment

Yasiel Puig
March 17, 2016

(Guys, this is another solid article from our wonderful partners. Remember I want to represent differing opinions on this site, and foster great Dodger discussions. I know some of you may not agree with everything written over here all of the time, but as the great Tommy Lasorda once said…”Opinions are like noses, everyone has one”.  Let’s all try to keep an open mind. Enjoy!) In the 1990s and 2000s,…

Dodger Hitters Have Been Flexing Their Muscles

Austin Barnes
March 16, 2016

The Dodgers have had a dynamic offense so far this spring. Once again the boys in blue are displaying top notch levels of power and on base abilities. This time however their situational hitting and base running seem to be much improved. The club is in the top ten in almost every category this spring. The Dodger batters are definitely flexing their muscles this Cactus League season. The Dodgers lost…

Several Dodgers Mending From Various Injuries

March 15, 2016

Several Dodgers are mending from various injuries. The Dodger’s spring has been marred by these nagging injuries. Fortunately for the Dodgers none of the injuries appear to be serious, with the exception of Brett Anderson‘s rusty back. Several Dodgers have taken a huge step forward on their road to recovery. A few of them have even begun playing in games. Justin Turner Dodger third baseman and king of beards Justin Turner has begun…

Cody Bellinger is Impressing Early This Spring

Cody Bellinger
March 14, 2016

There’s a new hashtag spreading around twitter like wildfire called “Codylove”. It’s referring to the love that Dodger fans have for first base prospect Cody Bellinger. The youngster is a 20-year old prospect originally from Chandler, Arizona. He’s the heir apparent to first base when Adrian Gonzalez finally gets too old to play. He’s been red hot this spring too. Bellinger was drafted by the Dodgers in the fourth round…

The Dodgers Can’t Lose Corey Seager

Corey Seager
March 12, 2016

We just learned the news that shortstop Corey Seager is going to  miss 1-2 weeks with a sprained left knee ligament. Seager suffered the injury during Monday afternoon’s 8-4 loss to the Angels when he was rounding first base after hitting a single. The Dodgers then sent him for an MRI and learned of the news. This is probably the best result we could get because the MRI showed no structural damage…
