Dodgers Unveil 2018 Promotional Schedule

Dodger bobblehead

The Dodgers have unveiled their 2018 promotional schedule. It all looks business as usual. There are not a whole lot of new or exciting giveaways to be honest. There are still the standard bobblehead games of course. There’s fireworks and Viva Los Dodgers celebrations during the final Sunday home games. The Dodgers will give away a cosmetic bag on Mother’s day and a money clip on Father’s day.

The new giveaways include a cooler bag, a piggy bank, an alarm clock, and a sand globe. There are also six collector’s item giveaways sprinkled throughout the schedule. I don’t know what you would get from those. Last year was the collector’s pins. I’m assuming it’ll be something similar. Opening day is scheduled for March 29 and Fan Appreciation day is slated for September 23.

  1. It is time for a Junior Gilliam bobblehead! They waited until 2017 to make a Gil Hodges, never have made a Campy, Robinson, or Reese bobble. The have made a couple of statues to Jackie and Roy and Reese were on a bobble where he was in his wheelchair, supposed to be from the exhibition game with the Yanks in 59, but not one where any of those guys was in uniform as a player. Seems like every year we get another Kershaw bobble, I have 3 different ones, and the last bobble they did of Big D was one of those cartoonish looking things that did not resemble him at all. Turner has gotten 2, and Gonzo more than that. So it is time to honor a player who spent his entire baseball career as a Dodger, as a player and a coach. Member of 4 World Series Championship teams and came out of retirement to help win the 1965 flag. Junior was probably one of the most unselfish players I have ever seen play. He hit 2nd behind Wills and sacrificed himself many times to get Maury into scoring position. He died way too young, the same as Hodges did.
