Dodgers Player of the Game

Michel Conforto gets the nod just based on his long home run to dead center at Fenway Park.

My Thoughts: No beating around the bush, this was a series that the Dodgers should have won but did not. These types of series will occur throughout the long baseball season, but the teams will need to recoup, as a hungry Reds team will be waiting to welcome them into Cincinnati tomorrow evening. Dustin May was good until he wasn’t, and the Red Sox found their power in this series. The Dodgers didn’t lay down and kept fighting, so hopefully the fighting will turn into a series win in Cincinnati.

Next Up:  Dodgers send out Yoshinobu Yamamoto to face off against Chase Burns for the Reds. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 PM PST. The game will be aired on Sportsnet LA

Growing up and living in Oklahoma I fell in love with the game of baseball from an early age from playing T ball through High School. I have always had an admiration for the Boys in Blue with how the Dodger Way is the right way to play the game. Tommy Lasorda is my favorite manager of all time and my all-time favorite players are Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Sandy Koufax, Pedro Guerrero, Mike Piazza and Clayton Kershaw. I am enamored with Dodgers history from the Brooklyn days when they were Dem Bums to the days of Fernandomania to Mannywood and beyond. Vin Scully will always be the best announcer the game has ever seen and it will always be time for Dodger baseball. I am married to the love of my life Melissa who gave me the inspiration to actually take on this crazy idea of writing about the Dodgers and without her support I would not be able to do what I love. My cousin Zach Chase and uncle John Chase for being a Dodger encyclopedia and sharing their knowledge with me. I will bring my perspective and love for the team to readers and I will most likely have spelling errors from time to time but I promise ill do my best on it. I want to bring you a unique perspective on your favorite team and also throw some humor along the way. I love to talk about baseball with anybody who will listen and I look forward to the Dodgers going back-to-back in their quest for another World Series Championship. Dodger Blue through and through.

  1. Very disappointing loss and series. May was not good, but he was not awful. The offense on the other hand was awful with RISP. Dodgers had ample opportunities to win this game and whiffed.

    1. No surprise to me. They’ve sucked for most of the season. Since starting 9-1, they are 52-46. That’s what their pythagorean record says they should be. Around 5-6 games above .500. (UPDATE) (Their pyhtagoreon record actually says 59-47 now, but that puts them right around 87 wins) Mostly due to the pathetic pitching, and poor defense. Unless they complete rework the pitching staff, and improve defensively, they are on track to win around 86-88 games. That will probably win the NL West, but unlikely to go anywhere in October. They are considerably worse than last year.
